Durational

客家人 is an interactive performance that invites the audience to participate in kneading dough into the shape of abacus seeds. The dough is primarily made of yam and tapioca flour and the abacus seeds carry connotations from the Hakka culture. As the artist and participants gather around in this activity and engage in dialogue about how the dish is meant to be made, food becomes the connecting point between people, knowledge and culture.
